Ah, Miss Ghost? Salutations; this is Kaveh. I hope you are well. This isn't a follow-up regarding our previous projects, but I have a question, and I thought that perhaps you might have a bit of knowledge in it. Do you happen to have some time?
Well, no in-person meetings needed. It's also not a particularly clandestine conversation, but it's also a bit strange, so I won't be offended if this question isn't something you can or want to answer. But before that - falling off of Ferris wheels? That seems terribly specific. What brought that on as a comparison?

Generally the most reliable dish on any tavern menu, provided you don't think too awfully hard about what might've gone into it. I like when there are carrots cooked in the broth soft enough that they don't crunch anymore. And potatoes.
Oh, you and Heine can't have dinner together anymore. The reason why I asked is because it turns out my stew has stewed and I've made entirely too much of it. Would you like to not have to scrounge for dinner tonight? It's good stew.
I just imagined the scenario where I have to somehow put everyone in this city at tables in the venue space simultaneously for a sit-down dinner and immediately burst into tears.
Why do you hate me. Why would you ask this thing of me.
okay first of all: deep breaths!! it's going to be okay!!!
second of all: you don't have to Put People At Tables, you could have a small number of standing tables where people can eat something quick and then meander off again. use plastic dishware and have a spot to self-bus, done
Oh, right, from the gala. And the gala setup. You were one of the ones trying to get me to do all sorts of ridiculous and unnecessary things like "closing my eyes" and "stop moving occasionally".
[ at ghost's doorstep sits a paper-wrapped gift blooming profusely from its seams with long-stemmed paper flowers in dizzying greens and reds and oranges splayed along the painted watercolours of a rising, winter-morning dawn pale with still-visible pinpricks of mourning stars.
the package is no larger than two palms put together, and when picked up, weighs no more than standard flashlight. when unwrapped, within is a miniature version of the stained glass kaleidoscope that adorns the roof of the planetarium. the handcrank generates the power needed to bleed light through the opening, upon which its patterns are cast across the ceiling: a rising sun, a golden field stretching endlessly framed by twin, golden towers that spiral into the cutting cornflower blue of a vast, unshakeable sky.
the world is complete; the world is empty.
the note: ]
To the hero who saves heroes,
No, don't you dare throw this note away before you've had a chance to read it. Listen: Ghost, you don't get to decide the feelings of those whom you've saved and how they see you. It so follows that you do not get to dictate mine. If you do not believe yourself to be the hero, then you are the hero of the heroes who are.
Now, with that out of the way, ensure that your doorway is clear starting from the second day of the coming new year.
Lastly:
May your coming year be as sweet as watermelon, and as fruitful as pomegranates.
With love,
Kaveh
[ the simple pigpen cipher unravels for ghost to find lestat. the world is empty with just one - with two, the final image becomes day overlaid with night, creating a husky dusk with its perpetual setting sun and the resplendent bloom of night roses over an endlessly golden field. two, twin stars fall from the sky ever in motion.

I’ve been sent a message from that mysterious architect, left at my door along with a gift and very clear instructions.
Firstly, I’m to tell you the phrase ‘pigpen’ – if that means anything to you, do let me know, won’t you? I’m quite curious – and secondly, I’m to ask you what took you so long, for his curiosity rather than my own.
… And then, for my own sake – how are you, my dear? I apologise that I haven’t sought out the pleasure of your company with more gusto since the night of the Gala. It seems that finally I may have got my fingers in one too many pies after all.
It means I'm going to kill him because I didn't need the hint OR HIS NAGGING I just choose to exercise my own agency and not do what a haranguing little piece of paper says!!
He sent me an enciphered message, by way of explanation. I deciphered it. If I hadn't, your clue would've told me how to do it.
Call it a late holiday gift, or something to see you into the New Year. I haven't given gifts in this way in a century or so, and I'm afraid I don't know where you live, so this will have to do.
Check under the counter once you get there, right at the back. xoxo
[ Attached is the location of a small café in District 1. Should Ghost go to retrieve the gift, she'll find a package wrapped in black paper with a golden bow tucked underneath the counter, just as he said.
Inside are a number of gifts; the largest, a green leather bag polished to perfection and the perfect size for carrying around a book or two; then, quite aptly, a book also of leather but dyed a vibrant blue colour, with intricate detailing on the front cover and blank pages waiting for ideas to be scribbled down on them; followed by a pocket-sized ink pen and a small vial of thick colour to refill it with. Finally, in a small jewellery box tucked inside the bag, a pair of gold earrings crafted to look like pomegranates, with glittering red stones at their cores. ]
Sure, it's called "I concuss you into a temporary coma".
It's a shame my friend Alanei isn't here. He could just actually kill you for a few hours and then bring you back, which it sounds like is precisely what you want except with actual death involved.

I like questions. I like knowing the answers to questions too.
How can I help with yours? Or is this the sort of question that necessitates an in-person meeting?

Ghost, you don't have to give me an exact number lest someone calls me rude again, but:
I'm 28.
You're not older than me, are you?
no subject
I'm 27. Unless I've had a birthday since arriving here, but I don't know when my birthday is, so probably 27. Or thereabouts.
